The audio editor that runs in your browser
Cut, clean up and mix audio, record your voice and export to MP3, WAV, FLAC and more. Nothing to install, and your files never leave your device.
Works in a recent desktop Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
Everything for everyday audio work
Podcasts, voice-overs, interviews, music edits and ringtones: open a file, fix it and export it in a few clicks.
Precise editing
Cut, copy, paste, trim and split on as many tracks as you need. Move clips, add labels, and undo any step from the history.
Record
Record from your microphone straight onto a track, with a live level meter, and edit the take right away.
Clean up
Take background noise out of speech, remove steady hum and hiss from a noise profile, and shorten long pauses.
Effects
Equalizer, filters, compressor, limiter, noise gate, echo and reverb. Change speed, tempo or pitch. Fade in and out.
See and measure
Waveforms or a spectrogram per track, loudness in LUFS, a spectrum plot, and finders for clipping and silence.
Private by design
No upload, no account, no tracking. Your audio stays in your browser's storage, and the editor works offline.
Opens what you have, saves what you need
Drop files onto the editor, or the audio of a video. Export the whole project, a selection, or one file per track or label.
Open
Audio files, and the sound of video files.
Export
With tags (title, artist, album) and loudness normalization for streaming or podcasts.

Questions
Is Tailwave free?
Yes. Tailwave is free to use, with no account and no sign-up.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Tailwave runs entirely in your browser. Files you open are copied into the browser's private storage on your device, and exports are handed to you as downloads. Nothing is sent to a server.
Which browsers does it work in?
A recent desktop Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Tailwave draws its timeline with WebGPU; a browser without it shows a notice instead of the editor.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the first visit the editor starts without a connection, and you can install it as an app from the browser.
Where are my projects saved?
In your browser's storage on this device. Save a project file () to keep a copy elsewhere or move it to another computer.
